CHANT Your music's authentic flair resonates with your listeners. In a world where many choose to easily compromise art for clicks and views, what motivates you to bare your soul to your fans?

OLIVIA To me, it's that exact reason as to why I strive to bring authenticity to my music. I've gone through certain situations in my life where I felt as if I wasn't putting enough effort/heart into my craft and was so focused on what everyone else likes and since then, have changed my perspective and focused more on myself. It's genuine feelings that I would want my listeners to experience.

CHANT What keeps you grounded

Olivia Basic human things. Family. Friends. Making time for myself and the people I love. I believe that if you continue to surround yourself with people that balance you out, especially if your industry is high-demanding, it will keep you from going crazy. haha.

CHANT What's your songwriting process?

OLIVIA My songwriting process almost always starts with me sitting on my bed and grabbing my laptop out. I will write down small sentences or words whenever something I want to remember pops up so whenever I write, I will scroll through them on my phone and see what topic resonates with me that day if I don't already have a topic on my mind. I'm big on "not forcing" your craft so whenever I come to a mental block, I stop and do something else for a little while then come back to writing. I also like to listen to different kinds of genres of music before writing as it helps me keep open-minded. Some artists would include Sade, James Blake, John Mayer, Partynextdoor and The Teskey Brothers.

CHANT The lyrics to your song "Right about you" are highly relatable to anyone that wants to see the best in someone although there may be valid reasons to question their sincerity. Is there an actual relationship that inspired the song? Yes, I'm currently in a relationship right now and have been for 3 years! We're super low-key, but I really love that about us. Especially now where everything is overly saturated with posting your private life online, we manage to keep our private life private! There's something really special about that. In relation to my song, it should be easy to realise that I'm a Taurus. haha. We're very skeptical at the start but once we truly believe in something, we give 100%. Ride or die. At the start of my relationship, we already had a feeling that we would be together but we wanted to take things very slow. so we could be sure. And in that time I found myself making a mental checklist of the things he needed to "prove" to me at the time. That's how 'Right About You' came about. Shout out to Aldwin Cajili for helping me produce this song!

CHANT How do you know when you're Right about someone? What do you need them to show you to let your guard down?

OLIVIA I need to see that they can meet me halfway. They have no ulterior motive and like me, will ride or die. The lyrics to the hook of my song will literally show you my checklist of things they need to do to let my guard down!

CHANT Your music has meaning and the lyrics are intentional and thought out. You are literally providing your listener's with codes they can use to apply to their own lives and relationships only if they dare to listen with intent. We appreciate your art and we thank you for sharing some of your deepest and innermost thoughts with us. We thank you and we will be watching your career climb and grooving to all of your new releases as they become available for public consumption.
